Susannah Rake, Bereavement Student Trainee
Susannah was born and raised on the East coast. She is a graduate of Columbia University with degrees in architecture and historic preservation. Being brought up in the Episcopal Church, she took steps further to become a Lay Eucharist Minister and Prayer Minister through the diocese of Los Angeles and serves at Trinity Episcopal Church. She has been on the Domestic Violence Solutions and Teddy Bear Cancer boards and continues as an advisory board member. Susannah is a board-certified clinical hospital chaplain and pastoral counselor focusing on palliative and death-and-dying. A Healing Touch practitioner, Susannah is incorporating psychology through the MFT program at Antioch with a specialty in somatic psychotherapy for a holistic approach in mind-body-spirit. She is mother to a daughter and son-in-law who live in Marin where when together, go forest bathing in the splendor of the redwoods. Her partner of many years is teaching her mandolin when they are not out exploring hikes in the immeasurable beauty of Santa Barbara.
