Julia Barrera, Bilingual Community Initiatives Coordinator

Julia works with Hospice of Santa Barbara’s English and Spanish Advance Care Planning programs called Get It Done SB! and Mi Vida, Mi Voz, Mi Regalo. Julia also works with HSB’s Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics and Compassionate Care of Carpinteria initiatives. In their role, they engage in community outreach, partnership building, and project management, with a special emphasis on addressing structural inequities in the Latinx community. Prior to joining HSB in June of 2022, Julia worked as a Community Engagement Intern at Wilderness Youth Project. They hold a B.A. in Feminist Studies and Professional Writing with an emphasis in Civic Engagement from University of California, Santa Barbara.
