Colby Nolan, Bereavement Trainee

Colby Nolan is a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee currently serving as the bereavement counselor at Goleta Valley Junior High through Hospice of Santa Barbara. He primarily works with adolescents, supporting them through the challenges of grief, loss, and emotional transition. Colby takes a person-centered approach to therapy, emphasizing empathy, presence, and the creation of a safe, accepting space for clients to explore their experiences.

He is completing his Master’s in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University and is passionate about being a steady presence for those who may feel most alone in their pain. Through his work, Colby has learned the importance of turning toward death and loss, rather than away—offering clients the space to process, reflect, and grow.

Outside of the therapy room, Colby is an avid beach volleyball player and values time with friends above all else.
